I shared a flat with a Richard and Sally whilst at Manchester Metropolitan University. We were all on the same course. We bonded over a shared love of mini coopers and very naughtily once raced each other through Manchester City centre in the early hours of the morning. I have no idea who won! Richard was the first proper Geordie I’d met (coming from Bristol) and I was very impressed at his introducing me to Newcastle Brown Ale. I saw Richard periodically over the coming years at various trading standards events and it was always like no time had passed since I’d seen him. He was a kind hearted, quick witted and generous person with a real zest for life. He will be sadly missed by many. My condolences to you Kate and his wider family. I will always smile when I think of him.
